Board of Directors

Chairperson: Dr. Anneke-Jan Boden

Anneke-Jan Boden, Professor of Communication Arts Emeritus, MSU-Billings is the former chairperson of the Department of Communication Arts. In addition to serving as Chairperson for Community 7, she is also serving a three year term on the Humanities Montana Board. Dr. Boden holds a Ph.D and M.A. from the University of Denver. Her teaching experiences have taken her from Georgetown University to the Pentagon and, finally, to Montana. Dr. Boden is the author of "Billings: The First 100 Years" and "Montana: a Pictorial History". She was founder and first General Manager of KEMC-FM on the MSU-B campus.

Secretary/Treasurer: Kevin Dowling

Kevin Dowling serves as the secretary on the Community Seven board of directors. A graduate of the University of Maryland in political science, he is the Communications Director for the Western Organization of Resource Councils.

Board Member: Marvin Jochems

Marv Jochems served the City of Billings for 36 years, beginning as a driver for the library's Bookmobile and culminating as the Billings' Fire Chief. He earned a B.S. degree in Management at Montana State University, Billings and was honored as Distinguished Alumnus in 2007. Now retired, Marv enjoys his wife and two grown children, reading, horseback riding and volunteering for his church.

Board Member: "Major" Dan Miller

"Major" Dan Miller is a semi-retired radio personality, a virtual icon in Billings radio for more than 50 years. Dan has managed Billings radio stations, headed advertising sales and promotions, and served as program director. Anyone growing up in Billings listened to "Major" Dan Miller during morning drive for some 28 years at KOOK radio. Dan has been married over 50 years with three children and four grandchildren. See "Miller Gold" on Community 7 Friday nights at 8 and 10 and Saturday at 10 pm. He still does mornings at K-Bear, 97.1 Saturdays from 6 until noon.

Board Member: Monty Wallis

Monty Wallis has been involved with radio and television broadcasting in Montana for more than 45 years. In 1996, Mr. Wallis was promoted to General Manager of KTVQ Television after serving nine years as Local Sales Manager. He is now the Montana Group Manager for Cordillera Communications, overseeing statewide operations of KRTV, KXLF, KBZK, KPAX/KAJ and KTVQ. Prior to his affiliation with KTVQ, Monty Wallis spent 23 years with Meyer Broadcasting and served as General Manager of KYYA-FM/KOYN-AM in Billings. Over the years, Monty Wallis has devoted a great deal of his station's resources on community involvement and public service. He currently serves as a Reserve Deputy with the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Department in his spare time.

Board Member: Neil Klusmann

Neil Klusmann is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for First Interstate BancSystem in Billings. He is responsible for all of First Interstate's advertising, product development, marketing research and sales promotions. First Interstate is a $6 billion banking organization with 80 bank branches in Montana, Wyoming and Western South Dakota. Neil Klusmann is a Montana native and graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman. He also completed the Colorado Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Board Member: Joan Hurdle

A native Montanan, Joan Hurdle has taught public schools grades one through twelve in Seattle, Los Angeles, Wyoming and Montana, retiring from Colstrip School District in 1991. Hurdle served in the Montana State House of Representatives from 1995 through the 2001 Legislative session. She was elected four terms to represent an urban Billings legislative district. Presently working in the Billings League of Women Voters, chair of the MET Transit Study Committee, co-chair of the Montana State League and a commissioner on the Yellowstone County zoning board, Hurdle is active in state and local issues.

Board Member: Lisa Posada-Griffin

Lisa Posada-Griffin has been the Communication/Marketing Coordinator for the Billings Police Department since 2006. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rocky Mountain College in 2000 with a double major of Communication Studies and Sociology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Posada also served as the Yellowstone County DUI Task Force Coordinator from 2002-2008. She has served on several boards in the Billings community and is a part time instructor at Rocky Mountain College.

Board Member: Mona Sumner

Mona Sumner was the Charter Board President and a founder of Rimrock Foundation, Montana's oldest and largest addiction treatment center. She has been innovative in creating treatment programs, including programs for adolescents, mothers with dependent children, a private treatment program for Montana Veterans and led Rimrock Foundation in initiating Montana's first Sober Housing Program. Mona holds the Master of Hospital Administration degree from the University of Minnesota, School of Hospital and Health Services Administration.
